Several reports have revealed that Xiaomi is working on Xiaomi 12S series smartphones. Today, the company issued an official confirmation that the 12S lineup will be unveiled on July 4 in China. The series is expected to include three models: Xiaomi 12S, Xiaomi 12S Pro, and Xiaomi 12S Pro Dimensity Edition.
The launch date poster states that the Xiaomi 12S series will be unveiled in China on July 4 at 7 p.m. (Local time). Since it will be held a day before the ROG Phone 6 launch event, which is set to debut on July 5, it looks like the Xiaomi 12S and 12S Pro will be the world’s first smartphones with the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset.
The Xiaomi 12S Pro Dimensity Edition (temporary name) is expected to feature the Dimensity 9000 SoC. However, it is possible that it will be equipped with the new Dimensity 9000 Plus chip, which was announced recently. Returning to the poster, it features a camera lens and a Leica branding silhouette, indicating that the Xiaomi 12S can offer a better photography experience than all three Leica.
A recent leak has revealed that the Xiaomi 12S and 12S Pro will come in three configurations, namely 8 GB RAM + 128 GB storage, 8 GB RAM + 256 GB storage, and 12 GB RAM + 512 GB storage. The 3C certification of both the devices reveals that the Vanilla model will support 67W fast charging, while the Pro variant may offer 120W rapid charging.
